Do you have a baby approaching the age of toilet training? Wondering how to start potty training?

Relax. I trained four children of my own and here are the steps you need to know to start potty train your child.

– Is it ready?

You never want to begin working towards this milestone without assessing the signs of preparation for your toddler. In other words, you Potty Training when your child is ready, not when it is convenient for you.

 

I know I know. It’s frustrating.

But what you should know is that a lot more frustration will occur if you try to toilet train your child before it is ready. If she is not ready to form it will be physically or emotionally confused and resistant; two qualities that lead to the opposite result you want!

– Are you ready?

Your child will need you to be confident, calm and focused on him for the scheduled potty training session. Decide if you want to make the training and clear your schedule for a few days during this period.

Make sure there are no too stressful event happens in the life of your child during potty training time. If your family life is currently difficult or chaotic, put off training your little potty trainee until things calm down, if you can.

– Gather your supplies.

 



This includes items such as a jar or pot seat, easy on clothes / off your little more wipes than you can count. It can also include items such as potty training motivational videos and books, pot dolls or stuffed animals and small rewards. The supplies also include educational materials that help you be more comfortable with teaching your child how to use the potty. There are many great potty training ebooks and DVDs available that will help you know what to expect during the process of learning cleanliness and also what to do when you encounter resistance, which is normal .

Take the time to get as comfortable as possible with the process of pot you stay calm and patient and help you keep the interest of your child raised in toilet training until these new habits become second nature .

– Put it all together.

Your toddler is ready, you’re ready, your supplies are ready, your calendar is clear.

It’s time to start potty training!

There are several different methods of training, but here is an overview of the basics.

– Prepare your child. Talk about what you will be teaching.

– Let your child watch you use the bathroom. Modeling is important!

– Give your child plenty of fluids throughout the day potty training.

– Take him to potty chair regularly, every one to two hours. Eventually, something will happen in the potty!

– Make a big deal of its success. Be matter-of-fact everything else.

– Repeat this process until your child is toilet trained.

– Conduct initial training can only take a few days, but making the process a habit will take months.
